Stedelijk
Museum
The Stedelijk Museum is one of Europe's most important
museums for modern and contemporary art.
It is a dynamic museum that closely follows developments
in art, particularly those of the second half of the 20th
century, with a comprehensive exhibition programme. The
collection of paintings and sculptures, drawings, prints,
photography, graphic design, applied arts and new media
is world-renowned.
Van
Gogh Museum
The Van Gogh Museum is located on the Museumplein in Amsterdam,
between the Rijksmuseum and the Stedelijk Museum. The
Collection section is organised into three parts, featuring
the work of Vincent van Gogh, the work of other artists
and the history of the museum collection. Just like in
the museum, Van Gogh's work is organised chronologically
into five periods, each representing a different phase
of his life and work: The Netherlands, Paris, Arles, Saint-Rémy
and Auvers-sur-Oise.
Rijks
Museum
The Rijksmuseum Amsterdam, set in its historic home designed
by P.J.H. Cuypers, houses the largest collection of art
and history in the Netherlands. The museum has an internationally
renowned collection based around the paintings of the
seventeenth-century Dutch Republic, the Golden Age, including
twenty works by Rembrandt, four by Vermeer and numerous
other paintings by artists such as Frans Hals and Jan
Steen.
Film
